Le Petit Chef is a 3D projection dinner show created in 2015 by the Belgian studio Skullmapping: a tiny animated chef cooks on your plate. Today it runs at 149 locations in 57 countries; in Mexico only in Cancún and Mérida. In San Miguel de Allende, Querétaro and Mexico City, VMAP creates custom immersive dinners.

Is this the same as Le Petit Chef?

No. Le Petit Chef is a franchise show with fixed stories; in Mexico it only runs in Cancún and Mérida. VMAP creates custom immersive dinners in San Miguel de Allende, Querétaro and Mexico City. We are not affiliated with Le Petit Chef.

How much does an immersive dinner cost?

The projection starts at $8,000 MXN for one hour. The restaurant or host sets the price per guest; for example, The Restaurant in San Miguel sells its Day of the Dead dinner at $2,100 MXN per guest including food and wine.

Can I choose the theme?

Yes. We have themes such as Japan, Greece, Rome, Mexican textile, stained glass and the Andes, or we create a new one with your menu, colours, logo or photos.

Does it work at my restaurant, hotel or home?

Yes. We project at your venue or your favourite restaurant in Querétaro, San Miguel de Allende and Mexico City. We only need low light over the table.

Are there public immersive dinners I can attend?

Yes, with partner restaurants. The next published one is the Day of the Dead dinner at The Restaurant, San Miguel de Allende, on 2 November 2026. Message us for upcoming dates.
